380 owners from DB 2005 - DB SIII 2008 Discussion here.
Both Workshop Manual and Handowner's Book list only Bosch spark plugs for the 380. I am not a fan of Bosch and prefer NGK. There is much confusion over the correct plug to use. The Bosch listed plug is FR8DI30 (which is iridium and is gapped to 1mm). I get the impression this is an Australian...
Chasing some much needed diagnostic advice....:pleasesign: 2008 380 GTL, 218k, fully serviced, first owner, faultless (Mitsubishi) history apart from (warranty) thermostat replacement, good battery. Non-Mitsubishi history - rats.....around 155k, chewed knock sensor loom in the valley, threw a...
This has probably been asked a million times but I cant find the exact answer. Can somebody tell me the exact difference in springs & shocks between a standard 380 a VRX eg shocks /springs same height/ stiffer etc etc. Any help would be appreciated.
Has anyone found a brand of LED stop/tail globes that don't release cruise control when the park/headlights are turned on? IE most sense s enough volts crossed from the tail light circuit to the brake light side for the cruise to sense a brake application and release the cruise control??
Hi all. Any one have the gearbox bolt pattern / flange layout for a 6G75 or have any leads as to where I could obtain same? Best Regards
Hi Guys i have a Mitsubishi 380 SX Series II and i’m just wondering if anyone could give me some ideas or names of exhausts they have on their 380’s!!
Hi, I have a 2005 Mitsubishi 380 VRX 5 Speed Manual, the time has come to put in an LSD. From my understanding quaife make an LSD for our cars, Anyways I decided to give rpw a call to ask for info, and they said the lsd will not bolt in to the 380 manual gearbox it will need modifactions to make...
I've got the original 2005 base model db, 167, 000ks on impco gas. - I've had to replace an ecu, (due to a misdiagnosis of a gas computer earth problem) -Just fixed a sagging headliner - replaced timing belt only (tensioner is rattling on Cold mornings) - did the spark plugs , - replaced...
I am sure a breather is missing on my car (recall seeing one in the past). There is a hose the comes off auto transmission, going upwards and on my car was cable-tied to upper radiator hose. The rubber hose probably 4mm ID comes off what the workshop manual describes as 'Air Breather'. I assume...
So my '08 380 just did 110,000 and now it is due for a timing belt change. How long does it take in hours to get the service done? I've figured out that quotes over the phone are bullcrap as its so easy for them to rip people off. But I worked out to get the best price is to find out the...
I just bought a 380 VRX 5 speed manual for my son about to get his licence. I am now driving a late Toyota Aurion & my wife has our Auto Sx 380. What a difference in the manual, seems to have a lot more pick up but 2700 rpm at 100km per hour , makes it a horrible freeway car for economy but great...
Guys, I know this topic has been posted to death, but for some reason I can’t find that one particular post that had all the pictures and step by step instructions with handy tips To replace rear LH window regulator. Possibly because I’m in such a rush. Can anyone reply with the link to the...
Noticed on the Mazda Forums that they have a method that is different to the one we use. It looks easy and might work on our cars. I will try to describe it as best I can. Step 1 Locate the Automatic Transmission Fluid drain plug and remove. This should cause the fluid to run out. Clean the...
I am not sure if this has been posted before, but if anyone remembers that it has, I will delete the post. 28 pages Mitsubishi factory publication at the end of the following review. https://australiancar.reviews/_pdfs/Mitsubishi_380_DBIII_Brochure_2008.pdf
Best if you watch the vid. The sound of the struggling engine may not be too audible but watching the tachometer hopefully should be enough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72tp3N8I3fY It’s not always that bad. Out of all the threads here this seems to be the most relevant -...

I am planning re-powering a Ford Transit 2001 VH onwards, using a 380 motor coupled to the original Transit 5 speed manual transmission. My question is: The donor 380 had the auto gearbox, does the 380 TCU operate separately from the 380 MCU. If interconnected, what if any are my possible...
Hi guys. Ive got a bit of an unusual question. I know of a very cheap 380 for sale-$350. Apparently its got a hole in the block. Ive got a perfectly good 74 motor out of my old verada wagon sitting around doing nothing. See where im going with this? Do you see any problems doing the reverse of a...
My 380 fuel consumption was slowly getting worse over the last 6 months - albeit bumper to bumper traffic i was getting high 15s/16s. per 100ks. Average speed typically under 30kph - strictly heavy traffic driving and no freeways. So on the weekend i pulled out the k&n air filter and it didn't...
Hi everyone, There are posts regarding this issue floating about however they're all a little dated and not for my specific model (however I understand it's much of a muchness and doesn't matter about car model). Anyway, I'm the proud owner of a Mitsubishi 380 GT - series 1. Storm colour. ...
